Suppliment recommendations?
I'm 50 years old, ride about 75-100 miles per week and would like to know if anyone can recommend a suppliment to take to prior and after riding longer rides? Whey?

With the amount you are riding, you don't really need any.

Lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole foods are all the supplementation you need

If I push myself hard on anything over 20 miles I take about half a shot of whey protein. With low carbs of course. Just like any workout take it ASAP.
If you body needs any of that it will absorb it quickly, if it doesn't your body will just get rid of it. |

I ride that amount per week as I cross train too. I usually only add glucose to my drinking water for rides over 2 hours. Anything less than that I use low calorie fruit squash/cordial mixed with water.

Forget the supplements and focus on a healthy diet. Put it this way, i've ridden myself to winning Elite MTB XC races without ever using recovery drinks or supplements, just a decent, balanced diet.
