I have been vegetarian for 4 months, and vegan for about one, then for two weeks I did the 30bananasaday thing, I felt the best I have ever felt..

no mucus, clearing skin, endless energy, didn't stink when I sweat... you get the point.

But it was expensive as bananas got old and 2.5 pounds of grapes for breakfast can get costly, as well as organic greens and dates.

I am stocking up on bananas now to give them time to ripen. I AM ALSO EATING A LEAST .75 lbs OF GREENS A DAY(bag of spinich, celery, lettuce)

Watch for iron deficiency.
When I'm feeling flat, I tend to aim for iron-rich foods like the ones on this page (just the veggie ones).

I tend to go for the non-heme iron found in fruits and vegetables, If I consume 25 medium bananas and 10oz of spinach, I would have consumed .31mg x 25 = 7.75mg and 10oz~10.13mg.
so between the 7.75mg and 10.13mg, I don't really need to worry about the supply side of things, also all of the Vitamin C in the bananas I won't have to worry about the absorption side either

As many in this thread have suggested, there is no reason that you can't go vegetarian or vegan and be perfectly healthy. There are plenty of good sources of iron and protein that you can find and you can get all the other vitamins and minerals you need without eating any meat/fish/dairy. You might need to be a little more regimented (can't say, myself) than the omnivores among us, but that may be part of the whole diet thing for you.

As for feeling tired, I think the consensus is that it's unlikely to be caused by the diet though you can more closely monitor what you eat to make sure you get enough of what you need in your diet. It's most likely that you're just getting a little older and that you are a little out of shape.

That being said, pay attention to how you feel as you exercise more and more and if you continue to feel tired out by a little moderate cycling, you'll probably want to discuss it with your doctor. A good physical exam, perhaps with some tests specifically aimed at your tiredness, will probably find anything major and help put your mind at rest.

Going vegetarian or vegan isn't necessarily going to cure tiredness, in my case, it actually created it.

No, There is a whole community online geared toward eating ONLY fresh RIPE fruits and vegetables and greens.
I thought it was stupid when I first heard it too, but after researching it is the best diet/lifestyle that best fits humans.
Check https://www.youtube.com/user/durianriders

I think most of them are disguising an eating disorder.

I was 80/10/10 before I started going absolutely nuts. Not to mention there is no point in being freezing cold all the time (no matter how many calories you consume). Feeling spaced out and anxious all the time may be "the most natural state of the human being", but it wasn't for me. That and my teeth, man.
We chose to be on this earth. We chose to be human. Just because our natural state is love does not mean we can deny the fact that we chose the human condition, which is an un-shakeable addiction to a variety of nutrients that are just not provided by extremely limited and strict diets.
It just doesn't really matter as most people think it does. Food has nothing to do with your spiritual outlook or who you are as a person. When it does, you have an eating disorder. Its just something you need to make your muscles and brain work when you want them to, get over how your body works and move on to more important crap.

Well, all this banana jargon has got me thinking. Since the advice is to consume 30 banana's per day, heres how I tend to implement my daily allowance via progressive overload (The gradual increase of stress placed upon the body during exercise training).

I will remove the small increments of weights from my training bike that are already there & replace them by tyeing 30 banana's to my bike before each training session. My plan & thoughts are this. I will consume 1 banana every mile. I will reduce the training ride to 30 miles, thus consuming 1 banana, per mile for every training ride.

There will be around a 5Kg increase from the get go. Quite tough of a resistance for the body to overcome. But as I'm consuming I will feel myself getting faster & faster & faster. The weight of the bike is reducing, the speed & power is increasing.

Heres the new ride, watch the hell out....

I know no_xqcs in the picture below certainly agrees with my training methods & the 30 banana ruling.

Can't get enough of em.

I'm gonna blow you guys out of the water...

Actually those bananas are not ripe enough, they are too starchy
They need to be similar to below, when they are sugary, But too ripe is bad too, then they start giving off alcohol odor
These are good,

How to use the Progressive Overload principal.

In order to achieve new results, as opposed to maintaining the current strength capacity, the muscles need to be overloaded with more banana's, which stimulates the natural adaptive processes of the human body. Overload banana's accordingly as in the example above.

I know what I have to do. It's just so hard!
I can't keep up with all the bananas, doc! They haunt my dreams, unpeeling themselves by my bed while my wife and I are busy. THEY WONT LEAVE ME ALONE, AND THERE ARE ALWAYS MORE NO MATTER HOW MANY I EAT.
