Recovery Drinks

Who else makes smoothies for recovery drinks? Protein drinks by themselves taste so bad without fruit.

When I'm tired, thristy, somewhat hungry (my stomach can get very wimpy with fatigue and strained blod flow) and I have passed my supper time on the bike, I don't necessary crave a big bowl of pasta. So yes, i find myself making a big smoothie to get back some energy in the machine. I like to mix things up, but usually the protein source in it are either yogurt, milk, soft tofu, sometimes I put a big tablespoon of nonfat powdered milk for added proteins. The rest depends on what's in the freezer or available around: bananas, berries, kiwis, orange juice, pears, pineapple puree. If I have a sweet tooth, I'll put maple syrup or honey in there too.

I sometimes top it off with wheat germ for a bit of fatty acids and still some more proteins. I like smoothies. Very practical, and cuts off a big part of thirst, also!
