Training Peaks

I just started using training peaks. Pretty happy so far. I am considering getting a personal trainer that works with TP, but it all seems pretty pricey. Should I just stay with the virtual trainer or get a personal trainer.

Goals:

1st Place MTB Cat 3

Move up to MTB Cat 2

Start Road Racing

I just started using Training Peaks and like it so far as well. It does everything I need it to do for now and as long as I am diligent in maintaining my information it will be a big asset. I would like to know what the difference is between the free edition and the pay version though? I have not seen the virtual trainer. Something I am missing or do you pay for that?

The basic version is very basic. Purchasing the premium version will give you the virtual trainer and the ability to have a ATP. Also you get the ability to plan meals and work outs. If you have the basic, you only get the ability to go day by day and have access to limited details about your training. However, having said that, you can purchase a training plan or interact with a personal trainer with a basic account.

Bottom line, if your going solo, it seems the premium is the way to go. Buy a year though, wouldn't want to pay double by just going month to month.

1st year racing.

2 races completed both 5th place.

I have a race this weekend and a race next week. Should do better since I've been training much harder. The other races were just to see where I was at.

I'd race this season and see how you do self-coaching .. A coach will certainly help but it's nice to know a bit about yourself as well
