Cool down is overrated. Walk around for a minute, jump in the shower.

I imagine few cyclists actually have a cool down routine. I suppose my cool down routine is taking off my gear and loading up the truck, driving home and then taking a shower. If I'm doing the spandexing routine on the road, put away the bike, take off the gear, put on some music, hop in the shower.

I always roll around easy for the last 10 minutes, preferably 20, especially after long and hard workouts.

Then stretch, recovery drink or meal, and varying degrees of complicated OCD other things depending on what I just did and what's coming the next day.

I pretty much put my bike away and jump in the shower. If it was a long ride this is followed by eating until I can't fit anymore in my stomach.

I ride the last 3 to 5 miles at a slow cruise, about 18 mph. When I get home I stand in my outside shower for a few minutes before going into the AC!

Easy spin for the last five minutes. Once home, first stop is the fridge for 8-12oz of whatever 100% juice is handy. Strip off gear, put on loose shorts, wipe down face. Back to fridge for whey protein mixed in milk. Put legs up for a few minutes, then massage for a few more. Hop in shower. Back to kitchen to shovel in whatever high-carb food is available.
