Time off before a enduro race

How much time off bike should one do prior to a big race.

Doing a 8 hour enduro mtb race this weekend

Should i take a few days off prior to race. Like take the 2 days off of rest prior to event?
or should i ride every day this week?

and just do small easy rides prior?

Recommendations please

How important to you is the race? If it's an 'A' race you should have peaked for it and tapered. You can only do one or two peaks a season. You need something like three months for that, so it's already too late. If it's a 'B' race then you should take a day off two days before the race and go for an easy ride the day before, with one or two short "opener" intervals, just enough to get your legs going but not enough to add any significant training stress. If it's a 'C' race don't change your training for it.

Well its more of a B and C , lol. It is more of a small time fun event. Barebone old school style event, not even a huge field even.
small town stuff
but its my first race thing in 6 to 7 years. and first time for 8 hours
so like to do my best, more less a challenge for myself
i won't win it, but just to try it out and see if i like it
but like to have my whole potential on it

just found out about it like 3 to 4 weeks ago
so that really all it is
