my trainer set up vs..the rode
I took the time to set up my roadie up into the fluid trainer cleaned her up set up the fan TV got water all good. Hopped on began to pedal and it felt oh so wrong.
Is it possible that the set up would just feel wrong on the trainer? I was unable to get comfy felt weird....I adjusted the seat a tad and will try again tonight. I luved the set up on the road....I have not been on it for a month now do to weather and running instead. Any thoughts? |
Wrong? Wrong how?
Maybe it's so boring that you're just finding excuses to stop? I dunno. Just do it a couple times, you'll probably get used to it. That's my guess. |
my first thought is that the bike is not level. If it's up on the trainer, there needs to be something under the front wheel to prevent you from pointing downward. Even if you have something there, it could still be too short or too tall, angling the bike and making it feel "weird"

To the OP: your position on the bike will feel probably feel weird on the trainer. Mine definitely feels different. I find it way easier to stretch out on the road, actually, and my bike feels too big for me on the trainer. I probably straddle the bike more on the road, whereas on the trainer I find myself actually sitting on it; this would shift my weight back, and could make the reach feel longer. |
I'm a rollers guy. I've tried a trainer, but the stillness of it does feel really weird.
