Plantar Fasciitis/Tendonitis
Anyone here ever have these? I've got PF in my right foot and tendonitis in my left. It's excruciatingly painful. I'm curious to know if anyone's recovered quickly!

Had PF in both feet years ago (1993?). Sports physician shot cortisone in each heel. Pain relief nearly immediate. Then fitted me with custom orthotics. Wore them a long time. After a while was able to go without them. Haven't used them regularly for years now, but keep them around for any occasional flare up.

I got it from running. Went to my GP, two foot dr, and two PT, and it's almost better after three years. I also wear orthodics from the first MD. So my advice is don't expect a quick recovery

I had pf for 1.5 years. Custom orthodics, lots of stretching and ice will all help. Mine is finally about gone but I still wear the orthodics.

I've had all types of foot pains. I recently started using Kinesio Tape for competing events / long training runs and it seems to have helped a tremendous amount.

Yep - used pain meds for a week, stretching and got good inserts for every shoe I wear and its all gone. The tennis ball or similar item to roll your foot one helped me alot

Plantar fasciitis is what caused me to email race directors last week to transfer my race till next year :-(
Last time I ran was on Jan 4th, had a race Dec 31st. Couldn't walk right till the middle of January. Every once in a while it'll let me know there's still a problem... no way I'm running this year. I'd rather be able to walk without pain. Running sucks anyways... i hate it. Did triathlons just so I could race and not die in a bike race crash... but had to deal with running. Maybe I should try aquabike? Doubt those are too popular in central IL.

Freeze a plastic water bottle and roll it under your foot a couple times a day for 10-15 minutes, it really helps.

PF, I wear orthotics. Tendonitis, where? back of leg? If so, lower your seat, don't pusy hard, don't do hills, take ibuprofen for months to reduce the inflamation.

My PF went away using a "Sleep Boot" that essentially keeps your foot in a "ski Boot" position. The Tendon along the back of your heel remains stretched during the night and wasn't painfull going over the heel when I stood on it. I would also stretch the foot into this position vigorously before putting weight on the heel. There are about a dozen sites that offer some version of the boot. About a month of use and I didn't need the sleep boot anymore. The tendonitis, well, I don't have any remedies for that .
