Resting vs Trianing

Hi All,

I usually rode around 60 miles on the weekends, could be 20 on Saturday and 40 on Sunday or 60 on Sunday. During the week I usually rode one hour on Wednesday on the trainer.

A month ago I started to add some interval training on Tuesday and Thursday and started to notice an extremely tiredness the day after the training. I usually sleep around 7 hours, eat kind of healthy...It's been 4 days since the last ride and I am feeling OK, today I will ride around 1 hour....

I know I was suppose to be more tired due to the extra exercise, but how can I identify if the tiredness and lack of energy is normal for the extra exercise or it is something related to the need to rest more? Is this normal?

IME it's more applicable. After years of training, the body gets better at absorbing training stress, and the rider gets better at knowing when they're on the wrong side of the knife edge.
