Increasing training intensity/volume before two weeks of no exericse

Increasing training intensity/volume before two weeks of no exericse
Ok, so averaging about 9-10hours a week cycling, around 160-180 miles and 8000-10000ft elevation for a week.
I am taking this week as a recovery week and aiming for only 80 miles this week of cycling because I am looking to hit my last week, next week, HARD because I will be off for two weeks. Starting Saturday of this week to Friday of next, I want to really pick it up. Looking to hit >220mi, 14-15hrs, and 15000ft of elevation for 6 days. On Friday, I plan to do my longest ride yet of 75 miles.
Is this a bad idea? My legs feel tired now, so I am taking this week easy and recovery atleast a little for next week. then it is TWO full weeks of rest.
Good idea to get injured or to recover for 14 days to become really fit and stronger?

With regard to your last sentence, it is never a good idea to get injured.
Your basic theory is sound, there have been studies showing that putting in a crash week (or two weeks) in which one radically increases training stress, followed by recovery, gives rise to substantial improvements in performance.
I'd question whether you need a recovery week at this point. If you are going to have two weeks off the bike, you have ample time to recover no matter how hard you go between now and then. But you know your own body best.
