Hill Repeats choice (4 to choose from)

Hi guys. My goal is to ride this cat1 hill in 50-55mins. The full climb is here
https://veloviewer.com/segments/1104709/athlete/2592213

Part 1 of the climb is the toughest with insane gradients.
https://veloviewer.com/segments/942589/athlete/2592213

The 2nd part of the climb is less 'steepy' but hard too.
https://veloviewer.com/segments/973943/athlete/2592213
Which one of those 'hills' for doing repeats to improve climbing performance.

I have identified 4 potential 'segments' to do repeats for training.

1st segment: Distance: 3 km, Avg Grade: 3.5 % Max Grade: 14.5 %
https://veloviewer.com/segments/892307/athlete/2592213
Very windy.

2nd segment: Distance: 1.1 km Avg Grade: 8.2 %, Max Grade: 18.3 %
https://veloviewer.com/segments/5158445/athlete/2592213

3rd Segment: Distance: 2.5 km, Avg Grade: 6.4 %, Max Grade: 18.3 %
https://veloviewer.com/segments/5158714/athlete/2592213

4th segment: Distance: 0.7 km, Avg Grade: 6 %, Max Grade: 12.1 %
https://veloviewer.com/segments/5391238/athlete/2592213

Which would be most suited for repeats in view of increasing climbing performance? My best time was about 1h like 2 years ago and I am currently 1h12mins.

Thanks

The 3rd one, should give you about a 15-20 min interval at the avg grade of the total climb, go down and rest for 5 minutes and repeat.

I don't have anything to say on the question at hand, but am very envious of you for having access to climbs like that! I'd love to be able to ride in Mauritius, too!

Great. Thanks for input. How many repeats per session and go out at max or slowly?

Thanks. Hopefully, one day you can come. There is another monster that I have not ridden for over 3 years. I'll post it when I ride it again soon ...hopefully

With interval training you are putting in hard constant effects over the length of the interval. Do you have a heart rate monitor? You could try maintaining a steady HR as high as possible. 2 or 3 repeats of this length should be all.

I have a very good friend from Madagascar who encourages me to visit her family there, so I just may be in the neighborhood sometime fairly soon, actually!

Tried this trip today and did about a bit more than half of another climb. Man that was hard. Really need some intervals/repeats..
