I am resolving not to change a thing.
:) |
I'm addicted to change. It's what I do. Our small portions thing has been going on for about a year now. Recently we've added an afternoon tea instead of just snacking on some nuts or bar or whatever. Although sometimes we do take tea at 3! We have about 10 different healthy middle of the afternoon things that we cycle through. Today we had sliced boiled egg with mayo and buttered toast.

Australia's Food Pyramid has changed ... a little bit ...
New food pyramid: Diagram updated for 2015 | The Mercury Welcome to Nutrition Australia | Nutrition Australia Healthy Eating Pyramid | Nutrition Australia And for interest's sake ... The history of the pyramid, and the changes it has gone through over the years ... A brief history of the Pyramid | Nutrition Australia http://nutritionaustralia.org/sites/...id_A5-crop.jpg |
[QUOTE=Machka;17817933]Australia's Food Pyramid has changed ... a little bit ...
http://nutritionaustralia.org/sites/...id2015-web.jpg It has changed a fair bit with the bottom of the pyramid losing all those grains and replacing those with what is mostly vegetables... Canada has done similar things in recognizing that more vegetables and less fruit is a good thing. |
Tip that pyramid upside down.
Fat is the most important dietary intake. Carbs are not essential. There is no disease if carbs are not in one's diet while too many of them led to all sorts of autoimmune issues. |

Bodybuilders seem to know more about nutrition than anyone else I've met. They have it down to a science regarding balance of calories to activity (and desired outcome, i.e. getting lean and cut vs. gaining muscle mass), what percentage of calories from protein, fat, carbohydrates (including mix of complex and simple), when to eat what based on activity and desired outcome, how often to eat what and how much (including getting up at night to eat), and the list goes on and on. It's mind boggling how specific they get. The results seem to suggest they know what they're talking about (at least, the true hard core competitive ones).
I lifted weights for many years and got into the nutritional stuff to the point of planning everything I ate using a spreadsheet, timing, percentages, etc. for about 2 years and it made a big difference....I just couldn't keep doing it long term. I've simplified it down to trying to average 33% of my calories from carbs, fats, proteins and don't worry about timing...just have a total calorie goal per day. I no longer lift weights though. Just ride!!! |

That current pyramid is pretty close to what I've been eating for several years, and especially what I've been eating in the last few months. :)

How is that working for you? No health issues? Twinkies and coke so to speak? :)
And I have been jotting down a bit of a report in the Calorie Tracking thread from time to time, if you're genuinely interested. But briefly ... following CI<CO, and eating a diet similar to what is recommended by the new Australian pyramid has been great! The results have been beyond expectation ... I've lost weight, gained strength, and my health has been better than it has been in a while. :) |

Please name a single disease attributable to not eating carbohydrate. There is none. |

You mean Eskimos who spend majority of their life living on Keto diets without any carbs never get sick, never suffer degenerative diseases ??....Actually they age very fast and have some of the shortest life expectancies of anybody, despite eating huge amounts of "healthy" meat and seafood.

So that's why I'm feeling so healthy? They are due to your lousy diet. |

I posted a serious response and people like you make those types of Ad Hominem comments.
Try making that comment to me in real life. Isn't this real life? What exactly would you do if I made those comments to you in a bar in person? |
