Training for King's Ridge/Levis Gran Fondo

Hi There.

I've done the Levi's Gran Fondo medio route for the past few years, and signed up for the Gran this year hoping that I'd get the chance to experience King's Ridge for the first time.

Unfortunately, my training plan went awry and with about 5 weeks left to go, I got a little scared looking at the profile this weekend.

I've been trying to ride Mt Hamilton or Old La Honda/Tunitas Creek road on the weekends to prepare, but the steep pitches of King's Ridge really have me concerned that I won't be able to finish the Gran route as they really kill my legs.

Can anyone who has ridden it give me some idea how it compares in difficulty to some of the other rides in the SF Bay? I'd like to try to get in a few rides that give me some idea of what to expect as I'm thinking it might make sense to downgrade to the medio and enjoy the day as I'm worried I won't be able to finish the Gran.

Thanks!
