TrainerRoad: mixed messages - am I doing it wrong?
TrainerRoad is pretty neat, and pretty straight-forward - but one thing confuses me (maybe I'm over thinking it): for a given interval, TrainerRoad has a target power output - but some workouts will say, "all out!" for a sprint interval (which would put me well, well over the target power) or similar prompts which would have similar outcomes.
Do you always follow the target power output? ignore it for sprints? When it says "all out" does it just mean don't quit? (sprints at 2 x FTP for 15s don't require anything near an all out effort)

For short spikes under 10 seconds, you should go as hard as you can when it says "all out" and the target power should be treated as the minimum power, rather than the limit. These short intervals are to train your "burst" power, which can be highly individual, so if you can do more than the target you definitely should.

Thanks, makes sense. It would be good for the software to make that clear (or maybe it did and I'm a bad user). Also would be good if it used minimum values for scoring accuracy.... but I'm sure you guys get lots of feature requests
