Brake Lever / BarCon Combo ?

Anyone ever run something like this ? Shifter looks cumbersome to use.

Not sure what you're talking about. Is that a brand? Or a type? Any pic for reference?

The pic is there now. I've never seen that before. It looks interesting but I don't know about that. Seems like you would be spending a lot of energy holding yourself out there on those bar ends. Not only that, but as wide as it is, you wouldn't be any more aero than regular roadie bars. I'm not seeing the advantage.

Very unusual. I don't think that I've ever seen such a setup. I think it doesn't make much sense though. If you add aero extensions, you'll have lots of arm movement to shift. Still, pretty cool set up.

I guess the question would be, "what's the intended use?" To just ride around, maybe do some training, I think it'd be cool. But for use in an actual event, I don't think it will fit the purpose of getting aero.

That is a setup that was used in triathlon before STI was introduced. Usually this setup would also include the clip-on aero bars. And, occasionally you’d see someone have that brake-shifter combo installed at the end of the aero bars instead of on the bullhorns like is shown in the OP pic.
