Michelin Power Cups
Hey guys, sorry that I haven't posted much on this sub-forum recently. I've kind of been going through something. Any hoo, I thought that I should give a bit of encouragement to a particular TLR tire: the Michelin Power Cups. We all realize that this sport can be freaking expensive, particularly in the bike department. Hence, I'm totally happy to report that the Power Cups are a fantastic buy. I got them for $64 per tire; much less than most of the competition. I got the 25mm because my research showed that they're sort of made for rims with narrower inner widths. I'm using rims with a 17mm inner width. They went on easily, although I had a b**ch of a time inflating one (I even posted out of frustration about it in the Mechanic's forum.) The tires are unique in that they don't have any tread or a "rotation" arrow imprinted on the sidewall. And they are fast. As fast as the GP5000s I've used (tubeless and clincher) and they feel faster than the Pirelli SL's that they replaced. Super-psyched to be able to get a reasonably priced set of tubeless that appear to perform so well. I'll give you updates as I put the miles on them.

Congratulations! :thumb: (What'd you end up doing that worked??) |
So, I flattened the tire as much as possible so as to best get the bead close to the rim hooks. Sorta followed what another commenter advised, but without using the ties. What a PITA it was. I almost gave up.
