upgrading any suggestions appreciated
Just finished my 1st season which included 2 sprints (San Dimas) & 2 Olympics (Pendleton, LA Tri). LBS recommends rebuilding my wheels as I have broken several spokes (replaced with non-matching non bladed- thats all i had in short time) and nipples are stripping out frequently (dont really understand that one). Anyway, I have a list of upgrades in mind for next season. Any input would be appreciated. Here is my current set up:
Cervelo Soloist aluminum 2003 (bought used from craigslist) Full ultegra/ cervelo brakes syntace clip ons (too short for me) stock ritchie wheel set Im thinking the following upgrades: rebuild stock wheels- spokes & nipples 9 maybe change to powertap hub for training) hed aerobars with 3rd brake lever invest in race wheels zipp 808? any advice appreciated especially for wheels, im about 195 lbs down from 215 a year ago. I realize that my biggest upgrade needs to be my fitness so that is also in current daily progress. Ideally i want to be around 175-180lbs. mahalo |
If you want to reduce weight or make things easier for yourself, replace all moving weight first

$600 bars
$2500 for zipp 808's and a power tap and it will still be a road bike, $3100 goes a long way to a real tri bike and save the cervelo for the road http://gb.cannondale.com/bikes/06/CE/spec/7RM1clr.jpg |
