anyone order from trisports recently?

i need to order a few things from www.trisports.com, so i called them on tuesday to order something over the phone since i was home, and i got a recording saying they were closed. i called both contact numbers (the toll free number and the local number, even though i don't live locally, just to see if i would get different results) a total of 4 times, all at different times of the day, and i kept getting the same recording saying they were closed...

i've ordered from them before, but i've never gotten that recording before. i was just wondering if something was going on there? i'm a bit hesitant to place the order online, but i really need it by saturday morning, and there's no one locally that sell it...

I've never ordered from them, but I'd imagine that if they've shut down it will tell you at some point during the online ordering process.

I would suggest going through the motions of ordering whatever it is you need, up until the point of entering a CC#, and see what it says. If it looked like normal, I'd go for it.

I ordered from them in mid-April (on a Friday, I think) for some big sale they were having and it went very badly. Everything was listed as being in stock. Turns out that one small item was back-ordered but (I was to later find out) was due to arrive at their store in a day or so, so they held the order until it arrived. Had this been the only issue it wouldn't have been any big deal, but it turns out that since the order had been put aside for special handling (due to the back ordered item), it wound up simply sitting in somebody's office / cube for a few days unnoticed (and so unshipped). I call them the following Thursday to find out where the order was, which is how I found out the above series of events. I was just about to go out of town for 2 weeks and hoped to take some of the ordered items with me, so I politely expressed my displeasure at their negligence. I don't recall any "we're sorry" or any offer to do free shipping. What did happen was that later that day I got a voice mail from someone named `Susan' at Trisports asking me to please call her back. I presume it was in regards to my order but there was no mention of her role at the company or any explicit mention of what the reason for her call was. We trade voicemails and I go out of town, simply expecting that the package would be delivered in my absence.

I get home almost 2 weeks later and discover that the package had still not arrived. I send off an email to their customer service dept., which goes unanswered. I call, only to find that the package is still sitting in somebody's office. I'm pretty steamed at this display of gross negligence and the fellow I talked to said he would upgrade the shipping to 2 day instead of ground, but apart from that, no expression of regret at how badly the order had been mishandled. The order did arrive 2 days later but I won't order from them again.

Just ordered a swimsuit for my wife a couple of weeks ago and it was a good experience. Ordered online, paid using paypal, fast shipping. I've always had good experiences with them...sorry to hear about yours, Chris.

This is sort of off topic and sorry for thread jacking but I would like to mention two stores/sites that I visit and buy from regularly and have had GREAT customer service:

Both have free shipping on orders over $30 and I usually receive them w/in 4-5 business days. I ordered a wetsuit from runners edge, they did not have my size in stock. They emailed me first to ask if I still wanted to wait for the order. I did, so they called me 3 times the day it came in to confirm the order again and to let me know they shipped it. I couldn't answer my phone so that is why they called 3 times, and left a message. They threw in a carrying bag and a stick of body glide, so I highly recommend them for any future purchases.

I have had the same customer service from sunrise as well, emails answered w/in 24 hours, while brief they get the job done.

https://shop.runnersedgeny.com/display/2559/0/

They might be owned by the same people?? shipping policies are pretty similar and websites have same order format, anyone from New York??

They may be having some growing pains, as they've recently opened a big retail store in Tucson. I ordered from them about 4 weeks ago and scored a great deal on an Ultimate Elite repair stand. I'd ordered from them before, and got an email about a 48 hour sale celebrating their 7th anniversary in business...20% off nearly everything. Their regular price on the repair stand was pretty good, but with 20% off it was a no brainer.

It turned out they were out of stock on the repair stand, but they were quick to respond via email, and had it drop shipped to me from the manufacturer in about 10 days time.

So, count me as a satisfied customer...and if I ever get to Tucson, I'll be sure to drop by.

i actually live by both shops...

i have a few friends that work at Runners Edge, and they hook all of the regulars up with 15% off in store, and are definitely the best running store on long island...

Sunrise Cyclery is alright, they're definitely a lower end bike shop, but the owner is a nice guy and they do give club discounts. as far as their website, it's not their website, it's actually Sunrise Tri's website. they're owned by the same person, one's in Massapequa and one's in Babylon, and Sunrise Tri is the tri store and Sunrise Cyclery is the cycling store. Sunrise Tri does definitely carry a wide range of products though, even though the store is actually pretty small, and they're nice guys and will do what they can to help their customers out. the phone number on the website for Sunrise Cyclery is actually for Sunrise Tri though, because i asked them to hold a Sugoi Dynamo jacket for me in the winter, and i went to Sunrise Cyclery to get it and they said it was at Sunrise Tri...

and no, Runners Edge and Sunrise Cyclery/Sunrise Tri are not owned by the same people, but all of the owners are great people that will always do what they can to help someone out...
