Deuceman - Show Low, AZ

So I finally raced for the first time at a significantly different elevation. I raced the olympic distance this past saturday at Show Low, AZ. (circa 5-6000ft above sea level). I'm from Los Angeles (where the nearest elevation change might be the elevator), so I wasn't exactly sure how to prepare for it. Got there on thursday. preroad the course on friday. raced saturday. totally wasn't expecting to be heading into oxygen-debt by 100m into the swim, and then really feeling it on the run. Does anyone have any suggestions for training for something like this?
