Just a generic frame, wondering if anyone knows anything about it? I couldn't find a website or anything.

Possibly latest frame (speculation only :) ) by http://www.xds-carbon.com/index.asp though not listed on their site yet...

As Karbona which rebranded their previous frame (XB-14 also used by Planet - X, Ridley for Cadel etc) has this frame also now listed as available on the Karbona website...

There is companies in asia that just pump out generic frames like this. That are picked up by a handfull of companies, and sold as the best frame out there. They are all the same, so I would figure out what companies sell this frame, and grab up the cheapest one.

I just dont like the look of the carbon like that. I like well painted bikes.

I would also prefer it to be painted, it's kinda ugly with that huge 12k weave IMO.

The weidest part of the frame is the chain stay dropouts.... Why does it go up at the rear? Are they trying to lower the center of gravity?

Makes me wonder what companies will be rebadging this frame and selling it for top dollar.... I guess we'll see!

Two things about that frame.
The gap between the rear wheel and seattube is too big, and size is determed by lenght of toptube only.
The seat tube lenght is always 545mm regardless of size. I don't know if that is a negative thing.

@johanfl - thanks for the link with the built up photo. With that wide gap between the seat tube and rear wheel, it looks as aero as the old Wilier Cento Crono :rolleyes:

If this is this picture you’re referring to. I don't think this it’s the same frame. Look at the down tube. There also doesn't seem to be the upward angle at the end of the chain stays at the drops. Although I think it could just be the angles of the pictures them selves.

Now you made me a little unsecure if the built up frame that i linked to is the same frame in the first post.

Don't have to worry about whether you can't fit a credit card between the rear wheel and seattube as per UCI regs :eek:

No, no worries about that UCI rule on this frame ;-)
But what i don't get is when in process of designing the frame that one can miss such an obvius thing.
I mean you want the gap to be minimal (and still comply to UCI reg) to get the most aerodynamic effect.
What do you think about the fact that the frame come in one size regarding the seattube lenght? Is that a problem?

I heard that the cutout for the rear wheel shouldn't be too close to the tire because of the airflow of the spinning tire being hindered... Which kinda makes sense.... There's a lot of high speed air trying to go around that wheel....I'm not sure how much a gap is too big or too small, but it's interesting.....

This thing looks like a hunk of carp. That rear gap is ridiculous.

I would think the turbulence created by the space between the whole seat tube and the rear wheel whilst the bike is moving forward at 40km/hr, is far greater than the airflow from the 22mm wide tire as it spins up towards the frame.

frame needs a pair of 28mm tyres and a pannier rack... full aero.

I just got it but it looks promising. The gap between the rear wheel and frame is minimal.

Sure.
The downtube is 35mm and the headtube is 46mm-50mm.
