flat tire during race

What do you guys do about flat tires during a triathlon??

I haven't gotten yet (knock on wood), but during my last race, i saw a guy quit the race after getting a flat on his bike.

do you guys carry the equipment to repair a flat, or do you just pray that you won't get one?

Spare tube, tire lever, and CO2 unit is cheap and light insurance to carry.

Agree. They also beat walking (either in cycling shoes or barefooted) to the next course marshall.

Practice, practice, practice.... carry the spare tube and the CO@ pump the day of the race, but you should know how to change your tire in no time flat (no pun intended!).

Quit the race? What, was this guy intending to win? Sheesh, that makes NO sense to me!

He must have been trying to win--to some people who do these all the time, it's be competitive or quit. I would have fixed it and finished far behind, but I'm not going to be winning anything anytime soon
