difference in tri and time trial bike?
 

Two things on my list to do: time trials (possibly many of these), and at least one triathlon. Can someone suggest a bike that would be good for both, with an enphasis on TT's?

What price you looking at?

There is the Soloist 105,
Or the Soloist Team with Ultegra...

These bikes have standard drop bars, but with aero tubing and a reversible seat post to allow you to get further forwards for aerobars.

If you are interested I can give you more info as I spent a good month or so dragging up info before I bought my 105.

Are you looking at a bike specifically for TT and Tri, rather than having the road set up as well?

Take a look at www.cervelo.com and have a look at the bikes.

Alot of Triathletes and the likes are these days now riding road bikes set up with ABars etc because they are more comfortabl and doesnt cost the same as getting 2 bikes. What are your thoughts?

I have a decent road bike now, but would like to eventually do time trials. I would also like to do at least one triathlon but it's not as important to me, and it would be nice to do either or both on one bike. I'm pretty sure I can't convince my wife I need 2 more bikes heheh.

Well it depends if you want the TT type setup for doing the Triathlon (why would you not? comfort? apparently Cervelos are quite comfy in the TT position) or not. If you want the TT setup, try looking at the Cervelo One, Dual, or for a bit more the P2k. For a lot more $$ you can go for the P3. These are dedicated TT/Tri bikes (adjustable geometry allowing for many positions)

Or you can go for the road models that will allow fast road riding, or Tri's if you choose to go without the ABars, or with the flip of the seat post you can get a proper TT position.
