Shorts suggestions
I'm doing a sprint triathlon in June...don't foresee doing many more. Water will be cold...air will be warm. Will use a wet suit.
What should I wear under wet suit? Do people strip down and put on new shorts for the bike/run, or just peel off wet suit to reveal what's underneath? Any particular suggestions for shorts?
TIA

No stripping during a race.
For a sprint you could use your swimsuit. A lot of people do. If you think you will need some padding checkout https://titanwear.com/

[QUOTE=TriBob]No stripping during a race.
TriBob, do you mean no stripping during a race because it is slow or because its not in good form. I've seen it, and not just guys. I don't know about the stripping racer but it definitely slowed me down!!!!!! ( I knew I shouldn't have looked!!)

The normal rule is that nudity in the changing area will result in disqualification, though it does happen occassionally.
I use an all-in-one tri-suit with a light padding in the butt for the cycling. It dries out quickly enough on the bike, though like everything else in triathlon it takes a little getting used to. I would recommend practising your swim-run transition at some point to get used to changing when wet (things like "should I take the time to put on socks?" get sorted out when you actually try it out).
If you're not worried about padding, then probably best to cycle in your swimming trunks and just pop on a top after the swim.

I recommend Pearl Izumi's tri-shorts. They look like bike shorts, will not "bunch up" under a wetsuit, but they have a lighter pad and they dry out quickly. They usually run $50 or so and I have replaced my regular bike shorts with them because they are so darn comfortable.
