It's my first year attempting triathlons. Here are the events I'm looking at as an all around season, beginning early spring and ending late fall.

International distance relay (i'm doing the bike leg, 28 miles) in March

Then April/May/June, one sprint each month.

Summer i'm going to try to do some criterium and time trials.

Fall/Winter will be cyclocross season.

I would like to add in another Triathlon in September, likely the Town Of Hempstead Sprint Which was supposed to be 9/9/08 but was canceled due to the hurricane. And I will definitely be throwing some 5ks in there, I'll just pick them up as they come up.

Oceanside should be good...I hope it doesn't rain this year!

Good luck in Arizona. I did it last April and the conditions were tough. I heard that November was a lot cooler.

Just added the Honu 70.3 to the calendar (also known as Ironman Hawaii 70.3). What the heck is wrong with me? :)

So far I have an olympic in June and a half-iron in October. :eek: We'll see how it goes, though, for the half. No idea if I'm ready.

I'm doing my first Tri in April, and if that goes well, the Wendys International in June.
I did my first race of the season/year, a half-marathon, yesterday.

I've got some other races planned as well, but I don't have the schedule in front of me.

Been cycling for years, 10,000+ miles / year. Started running last October and I'm new to triathlon, but going big. These are my key events:

April: Xenia OH 1/2 Marathon (ORRRC)
July: Muncie Endruathon 1/2 IM
Sept: Toyota Challenge 1/2 IM (HFP Racing)

November 7: Ironman Florida

I started out only going tenths of a mile at a time. Worked up to some 5Ks and 5 milers. Now up to 8-10 miles but having some hip/piriformis problems due to imbalance in my legs. Seems all my endurance riding has overdeveloped my quads compared to hammies. More significantly... my right side is dominant to the left. Working on corrections and strengthening. Stretching... yoga...

I'll get there.

NYC Marathon - November 1st (got selected in the lottery) - A marathon 1 week after a Half Ironman...what the heck!
Kona Ironman (if I get lucky and score a lottery spot) - Didn't happen...maybe next year.
