So I have prostatitis, and I just caught a terrible cold, or the flu as well. Factor in that I am struggling with my diet, and you see that my first triathlon season is off to a horrible start!!!

I added Sarah's pic here because every time I see her, she is upbeat and happy...and she is Iron Tough!

Prostatitis? Take your antibiotics. Take ALL your antibiotics. Find some more antibiotics and take all of those. Take your friends' antibiotics. Get a prescription for someone else and take all of those. Kill this evil affliction and drive a stake through its heart.

Yep I have the plague also and my first sprint is only 6 weeks away followed by an international two weeks later. So far I have lost 5 training days, it sucks but all you can do is take care of yourself and get better. When you do get back to training you will be back on form in a week or so.
P.S.
I had the good fortune to have dinner with Sarah last year about this time and she really is as nice as she appears to be. By the time we were done with dinner everyone at the table felt like she was an old friend. If you ever get the chance to hear her speak don't pass it up.

Why, because you would mix drugs that you have no idea on how they would react with the other drugs and how they will work with your other medications? We have had people die recently because they took a pill that their wife took for something and he didn't think it would be a problem. Yes, I would not tell someone to take medications from someone else :

I am not a medical student in any way, but losing a 45 year old friend and high school classmate, makes me re-think things.

I would just think that on this board, given the educational level of most of the posters and the interest shown herein to the health of the body, nutrition, etc., the sarc./sign would not have to always be inserted on a tongue-in-cheek post. I guess I was mistaken.
My point to the original poster, myself having had recurring bouts with prostatitis and having taken the complete regimen of strong antibiotics and still not killed the affliction, is that he must take the full course of drugs and be very aware at the first sign thereafter of another flareup. In hindsight, my urologist thinks that I originally had prostatitis for 18 months without ever really getting rid of it. Finally, he extended a course of Cipro long after all signs were gone.
Knock on wood, I have not had a recurrence in about 4 years. Once is enough.
Sorry if you took my post literally and I hope that the OP didn't commit the felony of "Obtaining Controlled Dangerous Drugs by Fraud." I guess he might have just gone out and followed my advice and could be in the jail now.

For the record... I "got" the humor of the antibiotic post. I'm not so stupid as to start taking other people's drugs because some anonymous person on the internet told me to.
I completed my course of Cipro, and I see a urologist next week. I'm staying off the bike and will start running and swimming when my lungs clear up from the cold -- should be another day or two.
