Ebay carbon fibre tt frames

Hi
I did a search and nothing came up, so hopefully this hasnt been beaten to death already. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the carbon fibre tt frames that seem to be on Ebay lately. They seem to be sold by a couple of different venders, usually for around the $600 range. I have almost everything else needed to build up a bike, thought this might be a good way to go. Thoughts positive or negative would really be appreciated.
Thanks

there's a lot of info on the road and mtb frames out there. tri fuel has had some threads on the tt/tri frames as well.

fwiw, without owning one, without ever seeing one in person, and without ever riding one myself...

you're getting a lightweight tri geo frame, made from carbon fiber 3/12k weave (supposedly), with the integrated seatpost, and possibly a fork, cages, and headset for around 600 bucks. i have read that bicycle999 or whoever it is will sell to you off line for less than the ebay auction. some guy here said he got his road frame for less than the bin price shipped. so let's say you grab it for 500 bucks, that's a great price for the frameset...

but now you have to wonder if the frame is truly 12k weave. it could be fiberglassed, a lower strength/quality weave, who knows. riding down a road at 25-30mph is no way to find out you're carbon frame is glassed and can't hold up to the pressure. and if it does snap - no warranty. you're out the cash and maybe some medical bills. plus there's only one size - hope you're a 54!

just a few things to think about. but like i said, if you do some searching you'll find guys who have used them for road and mtb without issues.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out trifuel. As luck would have it, I do need a 54. Your other points are exactly what I have been wondeing about. Given that there are a limited number of manufacturers, I'm wondering if these are seconds or a really cheap knockoff. I would preferr that it didn't come unglued at a high rate of speed. I don't heal as well as I did in my 20's, and massive road rash doesn't carry the same cool facter that it did back then either.
I was thinking that it might be a viable low cost option for a bike that will get limited use compared to some of my other bikes
Cheers
