Tri frame road bike

I have an opportunity to possibly pick up a Cervelo P2 frame for very cheap. I don't do triathalons and don't really have any interest in starting. I do however love road riding and a new road bike would be nice. Would the geometry throw me off that much in a road setting?

Probably not. You could adjust the seat and stem to mitgate the differences. In the end the bike probably won't be as stable as a true road bike, but you can compensate for that with skill.

I don't know what you ride now, but the position on the P2k will be incredibly long and low as a road bike. Once you get your saddle to a normal "road bike" say 3-7cm behind the BB, the top tube is going to be long. Not to mention that Cervelo's are notoriously low head tubed bikes even for tri/tt bikes.

It's not the geometry, it's the handling once you get the geometry adapted to a road position. On top of that it could be ugly(seat slammed back and an upturned stem).

Buy the P2 cheaply, then either a) build it out and get into time trialling on it or b) sell it on and make a few bucks.
