Master List (what to bring to a triathlon)
 
What is everyones master list on what to bring to a triathlon? Wanting to do triathlons soon and am one for lists. What to bring for:
Pre-Race
Swim
T1
Bike
T2
Run
Post-Race

haven't done mine yet, but heres a quick list

Tri-shorts
Tri-top
googles
2 towels (loud colors for easy finding)
bike
socks
running shoes- well broken in
small ballon for transition area(makes your spot easier to find)
sunscreen(optional)
sunglasses(not optional)
bike helmet (cant race without it)
bike shoes( google: flying squirrel)
race belt

family to take pictures!

I'm sure I'm forgetting something????

You will get a master list when you join USAT and get your membership card.

(this answer assumes that it will have cold water and olympic or half iron distance)
Swim:
Wetsuit
Trisuit (oly) or Tri top and Tri bottom (half iron) under wetsuit
Goggles
Thermal Cap
Watch
Race Cap (given by tri)
Bike:
Bike, Wheels, extra tube, CO2, Tire lever, number on bike
Bike shoes
Sunglasses
Helmet
2 water bottles (1 mixture, 1 water)
Gel or bar taped to bike
Run:
Run shoes
Race belt with number attached
Visor (optional)

That's how i go through the day.

Don't forget the most important piece of gear, you might be arrested without one!

you need to bring moist towlets for the last minute trip to the over used Portopotty.....this is the very essence of triathlon. Waiting on line at 6am with strangers all anxious to visit the plastic nightmare called Portopotty.....I luv to just chat with people as we all need to drop a deuce.....It makes me laugh evertime..so yes a Moist wipe is Key

Well, I ride to my tri's (mostly somewhat local, and a 10/15km ride is a good warmup)

List
to get to venue
BIKE/shoes/trisuit/helmet/sunnies/gloves
for venue
backpack (to put everything in)
2 water bottles, wallet/keys/entry details/phone/towel, book
for race
GOGGLES
RUNNING SHOES

I like the idea of moist wipes lol

Here's what I bring...

To wear:
Tri shorts
Tri top
Warm clothes to wear until race start if it's chilly
Flip flops for walking around prior to race
Garmin 305 w/ HRM

Swim:
Wet suit (if cold enough)
Goggles
Colored swim cap provided in race packet

Bike:
Bike with number
Bike shoes
Socks
Helmet
Sunglasses
Nutrition / water bottles
CO2 w/ inflator, spare tube, tire lever

Run:
Running shoes
Race belt
Hat/visor

General Transition Area stuff:
Towel (for marking your area and wiping off your feet)
Water bottle (for giving your feet a rinse off after running in from the swim)
