Trining rides on tri bike or road bike?

I was wondering if people are riding their tri bikes to train on, as well as race on, or if they are training on their road bikes and then racing on their tri bikes. It seems better to train and race on the same bike, but am I missing something?

Yes, people train on their tri bike. However, if you are riding with a group of primarily cyclists and expect paceline work etc. Take your road bike. It will handle better in these conditions.
