I'm helping a novice friend train for the cycling portion of the Wisconsin Ironman. What time range, from minimum to maximum, should a 26 year old female target?

Really tough to say without knowing her level of fitness. Also course conditions (heat, wind, etc) will play big roles. Without knowing anything besides her age? Anywhere from five to eight hours.

I think Lanzarote is known to be one of the course with the most difficult hills. It all depends on your friends level of fitness but I would think no longer than 8 hours on the ride.

I've done the loop portion of the course. It's hilly, see this profile: https://www.ironmanwisconsin.com/bike.html

17 mph will require effort. I would consider riding this event as training: https://www.dairylanddare.com/

As far as North America goes, Placid & St. George are more hilly than MOO.
