Chicago Tri- who has done it?
 

I've decided that I'm going to enter the Chicago triathlon next year. It looks huge and so much fun. I've only done a couple of super sprint distance tris that were designed for fun, not competition. I think I'll train for the sprint distance. My husband is going to train for the olympic distance.

So, if you've done it, how was it? Any tips or tricks we should know now?

It's a great race. It's so large that it takes a while to register the day before. The size of the event shapes the race in many ways--including the number of starts for the race. Lake Michigan can be problematic, too. The year I did it the lake was so rough that the swim was cut in half.
