UA compression shorts and triathlon
I have noticed recently at a couple of the tri's I have been at that more and more guys are wearing Underarmour compression shorts for racing. I have had a tri suit for a long time, but honestly I don't find them all that comfortable--too much moving of the male parts, meaning that I am adjusting myself far too often. I am looking for something more supportive. I realize that compression shorts don't have a pad, but I think I could put up with this for a short race. Does anybody have experience with these? What are your opinions?

I've never raced a tri in my compression shorts but I use them for running, and sometimes cycling and swimming. They work for me. It wouldn't be that difficult for you to decide if you like them.

I run in them all the time. Not much to lose by giving them a try.

I exclusively cycle in (BCG) compression shorts, long inseam. Works great for me...and went on a short tour in them. All else being set correctly, I haven't felt a need for the cycle shorts. Doing my tri Sunday in my Speedo jammers, which after two 3-event practices are just fine!

I bought a pair. I think they'll work for shorter rides, but am not happy with the level of support. Oh well.

For a sprint tri, I don't think you would miss the pad too much. I have done my sprint tri's in just jammers, then put on a cycling shirt in T1. adding the shirt in the transition added a few seconds, but not too bad.

I rode with the compression shorts. I have to say that I now know why bike shorts have chamois. They are ok for a short distance, but not overly comfortable.
