And yay for Ironman.com for streaming the whole thing to the interwebs. It was cool to get up, watch some of the ride online, go for my own two hour ride, come back, and check out some crazy fast marathoning. Made me feel wimpy for having sore legs.

if only the feed was better, loved the race but hated the suckey camera feeds and the stream loading every few seconds toward the end. i missed the pass and the aid station in the last 6 miles because it blipped for 30 seconds

Thanks for the spoiler warning. But it's okay, I suppose I would have found out anyway.

It was fun to watch online. I had it on in my office and would check in everyone once in awhile.

I always thought it would be great if ESPN could do an all day thing where they have like an hour live before the race and during part of the swim, and then check back in every hour or so for a quick update. People watching football all day would gain a much better appreciation for the time it takes to do the race. And, in a perfect world, they would also talk a lot about the age groupers. I don't like most broadcasts of the IM because they usually only show the top pros and some handicapped people, and while those stories are indeed compelling, it totally misses the heart and soul of the race, IMO.

My wife asked me a question yesterday while I was watching it that I couldn't answer and the above comment reminded me. The guys (and gals) in wheelchairs: They do the whole road part of the race using different chairs? I've seen people with no legs or leg issues swim, but then they have some sort of arm pedaled bike and then the race chair? Is that how it works? Thanks.
