..Sometimes it is just better to help..
I recently volunteered at a sprint Tri. I also like to help out at other types of events. The participants in the Tri were very appreciative of the folks that were there to make their event more enjoyable. You guys are OK!

Thanks for volunteering!
I volunteer as well at local races. Usually at races in between my races. I have also volunteered at Ironman Lake Placid, but that was to race the next year.
