Planning a trip to the UK...

Hey guys,

I'm planning on taking a trip to England during July to visit my Dad, and am considering taking my bicycle. So, any tips about where one could get a good ride around the Ascot/Reading area, or where one might travel to around the country to ride? Strictly road cycling, there seems to be a big focus over there on mountain biking, but I don't think my cervelo will get too far off road :D

also I am considering a weekends riding over in europe, anywhere particularly awesome/easy you would recommend?

There's lots of lovely country lanes in Berkshire. Head towards the villages around Newbury for a great ride.

Europe-wise, you could do a lot worse than fly to Pau from Heathrow and spend a weekend cycling in the Pyrenees. I guarantee this not to be easy (it just isn't) but it's entirely worth it and will live in your memory for years to come. You owe it to your Cervelo. It cries when you request easy rides.
