Im from denby Dale, in West Yorkshire & just bought my first ever road bike at the age of 61, and am looking forward to trying it out as soon as the weather becomes less wintery.

The cycle is a Viking XRR 18 speed shimano sora gears with dual control levers, 22" alloy frame and 700c wheels.
Hope I can get along with it as Ive only ever had a mountain bike before and that was years ago.

Anyway, just saying hello and nice to be here.

New to the area and looking for them smooth roads.

Lincolnshire Wolds, the hilly part of Lincolnshire. Yes that's right some parts of Lincolnshire aren't flat! Have an old Saracen mountain bike I don't use much now. Bought 15 years ago and was my favourite for 12 years. Another bike with no decals on, again a mountain bike and hung up for winter use. Fitted with Scwalbe ice spikers.
Decided I have had enough of taking my bike for new wheels (rims worn down) and replacement gears. Gone for low maintenance rolhoff equipped bikes. Just sold a Thorn Raven Enduro (Rohloff) but also have a Santos Travelmaster also Rohloff equipped.
Recently purchased a Kalkoff power assist bike for pulling trailer. Used for firewood and dog (working Springer Spaniel) and anything else I can forage.
Will be looking for another Rohloff equipped bike. Gone off mountain bikes so probably another tourer. We'll see. Must get uber cheep or won't buy.

Yes I have ridden from Ullapool, went to the Cape and then onto Dunnet and then down to Altnaharra. I know it well, a friend of mine lives up there.

First time before it was called the NC500 - yuk!
