Bicycle Medics
Hey guys,
If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize in advance. Is anyone on here a bicycle medic? I'm a firefighter/paramedic and a service I work for is hinting on the thought of using paramedics on bicycles for major events. So my question is what do you carry? (the full ALS spectrum? or a basic jump bag?) How do you carry it? (duh i know in bags) and how are you identified among the mass of people as paramedics? I can't see our usual dress BDUs, Polo shirt and boots working for this one.
Thanks in advance.

These bikes with EMT eqpt. are used in the UK. And here's an article about bicycle EMTs in the US:

Link to article about the EMTs on bikes in northern Colorado and some ideas of who to call for more information. The short story is that the EMTs travel pretty light and make the radio call if more needed. I have seen them on the Tour de Fat and at some of the events down town when traffic is cut off, and they do not carry full panniers of gear.

These folks have for years provided valuable assistance on the Five Boro Bike Tour here in New York. Maybe contact them:
