My cargo rig: 1976 Raleigh Sprite with an old and crooked front basket. The rear baskets were replaced by a rack as they were too flimsy. Between the front basket, rear panniers, and a backpack I should be able to haul a decent load of groceries.

Here is my baby with a Nexus internal hub change out:

Done enough to post it.
1987 Schwinn Woodlands rescued from a dumpster 2.2" WTB Graffiti SF tires SKS P-65 fenders (front needs a bridge section because it won't clear the forks!) Velo-Orange Tourist bars Oury grips New Falcon friction shifter (front) Trans-It rear rack New cables Nashbar platform/SPD combo pedals New cassette and chain Total spent, under $125. I'm ordering a CETMA 7-rail front rack this week, and eventually putting a generator wheel and twin B&M IQ Cyo lights up front; but all in due time. It works well as is. |
Clifton - The Schwinn is looking good although I would worry about that crank being able to take the kind of torque you can lay down.
All in all... very very nice. |

Here's my Montgomery Ward special frame built up for town duty...and its matching trailer. The bike is a single speed and is comprised of mostly used/spare parts. The trailer is made of electrical conduit.

Here's mine and my fiancee's road bikes that we've outfitted for getting groceries. When we're feeling a bit more "fancy" we'll switch out the baskets for panniers. :D

Here's my commuter/utility/fun bike, currently hauling books and a laptop in my pannier.
Snapped these off today, these are the first pics i've taken of it too since i built it up from a SS/FG. Here's my Kona Blast. It was my first commuter, but it lost it's job since I put my Cross Check. I now use the Kona for hauling my kiddie hauler full of groceries.
