Devil's Advocate

Just discovered that the 28Q Coleman coolers I turned into panniers for the M-Wave rack on my Giro 20 also fit the Ibera disk rack on my Stratus XPC. So won’t have to lug the QP trailer around all the time just to haul a 24Q Rubbermaid. And since I got another Ibera for the second Stratus waiting to ship to me, my new modular Ibera trunk bag will easily switch between the two. Woo hoo!

Also finally installed a Sataway HD adjustable kickstand to support my loaded rig:

Time. To. Ride.

On a work day, been commuting on my Utility Bike for a few weeks. My other bikes are drop bars, and I injured my right arm.

Hello
This Utility Bike and the front end is very impressive.
Nice work.
Is this front end available as a kit?
Did you design and build this yourself?

Pedal Stompin'
Metrofiets
Got a Metrofiets, I am totally obsessed. Although the Selle saddle is too wide, I want to change to a Terry or a Brooks saddle. Now I just need to mount a seat and seatbelt for my five year old, and It'll be an amazing kidhauler and grocery-getter!
I would also love suggestions about rain covers for passengers in the box, I blanched when I saw the prices for a custom one (around $450 USD, but you get what you pay for and it's certainly a fiddly item to construct).

My Metrofiets on its maiden voyage to work.

Pedal Stompin'
Metrofiets with kid seat
Installed a fancy Maxi-Cosi carseat using the LATCH system (used stainless steel bolts, each rated to 220 lb/100 kg). My 5 year old loves it!

You've probably seen the photos before, but now a painting has been made based on them.

Top: Reid City Bike. Was 3x7, but changed out crankset to 1x7, Tekto V brakes, SMP 32mm, stock rack, Iberra trunkbag, Topeak Road Morph, Brooks B17, Wellgo dsc pedals.
Bottom: Viva Legato fixed from EvoCycles in NZ. Seatpost rack, u-lock, Lezyne pump, platform/dsc combo pedals, Brooks saddle and leather grips, stock wheelset, 28mm tires.
Love them both for completely different reasons. But, either one gets the job done.

Rally for Bike Lanes

Rally at Queens Borough Hall Sponsored by Transportation Alternatives
We had a rally at Queens Borough Hall. The ride involved almost two hundred cyclists, myself and another guy on an XtraCycle were the only two cargo bikes.
We celebrated the construction of new bike lane eastbound as far as Kew Gardens, but would like to see it connected to Jamaica, which is a transit hub.

Here is my current "trailer tugger" set up. The trailer was a old Burley Child Carrier, I stripped it down added steel strapping bars bolted to the frame for the tub, which has u bolts and wing nuts to secure it so I can take the tub off quickly for a larger load. We can't afford to own a car anymore as we are now surviving on our meager SS retirement income! The bike is a 2007 SUN EZ-1 SX and it hauls the loaded trailer really well.
