My 16" Smoke 2-9. Too dreary to drag it outside right now for nice pictures :)

I got it for my local errands and for my long commute to work that I hope to do at least 3 times a week. Rear rack is next, then panniers. I am also dabbling with the idea of milling a piece of black walnut to make a shelf in the basket. -Kevin |
Do you know the name of those fenders? My front Planetbike fender doesn't go that far down, and so my feet get muddy. Also, the front fork, did it come with the bike? Looks good.

These are awesome. Do you see any ill affects with the long chain and the coaster brake? I have a Rockabilly Boogie that would be great with an Xtracycle.
The rockabilly would look very slick - do it and post some pics! We've never had any issue with the brakes. |

This is a 1971 Schwinn Racer which has been my utility bike for more than 30 years.
I converted it to MTB (559) wheels sometime in the early 1980's, and it's been through several sets of rims since then. This year's upgrades include the CETMA front rack, Inolight LED headlight, and long front fender (a converted rear fender). Previous upgrades: Sachs Pentasport 5-speed rear hub and Shimano Nexus NX-30 front generator hub and B&M DToplight Plus LED taillight mounted on the home made triangulated steel rear rack under the Wald basket in 2001. These replaced an old Sturmey Archer S5 and Dynohub and Sturmey Archer taillight which were in use since the 1980's. The SA headlight was upgraded to a 2.4 watt halogen bulb at that time. Home made mount for the Kryptonite U-lock and the reduced size (40 tooth) chainring, lowered chain guard and short cranks, as well as the MTB wheel conversion all date back to the 1980's. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3059/...8d3228267e.jpg More pictures are at: http://www.flickr.com/gp/7289267@N06/1Q774C |
