Just got my Dummy, naked though.

So, my big dummy complete arrived from Xtracycle today, much faster than I expected. Very excited to get my hands on one after long wait full of fishy stories trying to get a frameset through my friend's bike shop. After more than a month wait, I was way lucky that the only completes xtracycle had left were my size.

So, only snafu, xtracycle parts (freeloaders, v-racks, snap deck) in the box. Anybody else order the complete? Do they come in separate box? Haven't heard back from Xtracycle yet.

So, intial impressions, like everything except the c-bars and the saddle. The bars are just too much for me, looking to put on something like the on one mary. The saddle feels too small for my derrière, I'm sitting on the rivets, one way or the other.

When I was planning on building up a frameset, I was gonna try out the nuvinci hub. I'm glad I've got the dérailleur setup to either fall back on if I'm not loving it, or make a nice upgrade to my tallbike. It really rode nice when I borrowed the drivetrain from my mtb for riding Aids/Lifecycle. :D

Which saddle is that? I might be interested in buying it off you if you want to sell it. PM if you'd like to talk about that.

Xtracycle seems pretty customer focused - I'm sure they'll get your accessories out to you - assuming they don't arrive on their own in another box.

Enjoy the new bike...I'm jealous...I've had a BD frame in my apartment for a month and it is still not finished....yikes!

I found that with really swept back bars I wasn't stretched out enough and I ended up sitting on the back (rivits) of my Brooks B17 saddle. Really uncomfortable. Try the Mary Bars (or Origin 8 Space Bars) and see if that helps with the saddle position.

Yeah, I just ordered some space bars. I might test the brooks out on my tallbike, it's got about the position I'm shooting for on the BD.

Swapped out the saddle from my mtb, swapped the bars for some I had in the garage, less sweep, slightly narrower, and about two and a half inches less depth. not hitting my thigh pedaling through tight turns anymore.

If my racks don't show up soon, I'll probably bend some out of EMT.

Got my racks and my space bars! I am stoked! They also threw in a set of Reelights. Not real useful on the dummy, as the rear would be under the freeloader, but will work nice on one of the other eight bikes in this house. Now to sort out a caliper protector, Xtracycle or Surly really need to sell a dummy specific one, for those without a garage full of random bits of metal.

I am definitely liking the new handlebars, might get an adjustable stem to figure out the position I like best. They have a great feel to them, just the right amount of sweep, and no disconcerting flex like those huge cruiser bars.
