This is my Xtracycle built with a Surly instigator and equipped with a Stokemonkey.
I plan to make some wooden fenders and a matching longboard snapdeck later this summer.

Very cool. I would love to see some close-ups of the Stokemonkey. What's it preform like?

I'm hoping to get a SM as soon as they are back on the market.

Swell-lookin' build ya got there. And, of course, we're all jealous of that monkey betwixt your legs. :D

How is the Stokemonkey controlled? Throttle?

Yes, usually thumb throttle on either hand. It's a bit different from some as it puts power thru the crank.
This means that you get the efficiency of using your gears, but does mean that when using power,
you have to be pedaling. Those that have tried it, usually like it. Lots of grunt, ideal for a loaded bike.

I'm saving my money to buy one, not cheap, but I think worth it.

The stock throttle is a twist grip throttle like a motorcycle but there is a thumb version available.
The Stokemonkey is a great product. I went on a 45 mile ride and only used the SM on the big/long hills and didn't kill the battery. My biggest problem is resisting the urge to use throttle all the time.

AllenG I'll take some close up pics this weekend.

Lets just hope that they become available again soon. I'm beginning to think "Alice's Jam."

I'm curious if it is possible to use a Stokemonkey with drop handle bars? (Thumb throttle?)

I suppose it might be, but Todd recommends Albatross or similar.
