I need hitch help!
I have been using my cheap-o, but adequate, trailer for hauling groceries. The hitch my trailer came with this a piece of ****. I've used it three times, and it's slowly taken my wheel out of true.
What I need:
A recommendation for a trailer hitch (prefab or diy) that attaches to my chainstay, or chainstay/seatstay. Also, I'd prefer it to be easily removable, but that's not a must.
What I don't want:
Anything that involves using my skewer. I just don't feel safe at all having all that weight in such a small area.
Price range: no more than $25.00
Thank you soooooo much!

I am guessing you are pulling a 2 wheel trailer, Some of them have a hitch that calls for a coupling to the skewer, I took a piece of aluminum DIN rail and drilled holes in it and mounted it to the Disk Brake mount, in turn mounted the hitch to it.
My skewer has been replaced with the Nashbar trailer skewer, single wheel trailer.
I pull trailers a lot.

A hitch you say? you asked your answer, Buy a car hitch and trailer tounge, Mew new utility trailer will have that, it will hook to my Xtra, but yeah Car trailer hitches and trailer tounge, with the ball, very good and easy to use, plus you can lock the trailer that way lol

Can you or a friend weld? I think this was about $6 using parts from Harbor Freight and some steel scraps I had laying around the garage. https://www.bikeforums.net/utility-cycling/445721-pics-macgyvered-trailer-hitch-mechanism.html

If you weld it, make sure to re-grease the ball bearings. The heat from welding burns off most of the factory installed grease.
