Similar bike to Specialized Sirrus Sport
Hello,
I am in the market for a new bike. I am leaning towards the Specialized Sirrus Sport but am hesitant about paying the $600 price tag before I have evaluated similar bikes by other makers. Can anyone recommend other similar bikes? If possible I'd like to pay less than $600 - close to $500 but not compromise the features found on the Sirrus Sport. I like the shifting in the Sirrus along with the fact that it is light weight. Also, I will be storing the bike outdoors - am I out of my mind? Unfortunately being a city dweller storage space in our apartment is miniscule. I am thinking of getting skewer locks installed to prevent theft. Thanks in advance. |
If there isn't room inside for both of you, put the bike on your bed and sleep outside.

As for similar bikes. If you already have the yen for the Sirrus if you buy another make you'll always be thinking Coulda Shoulda about the Sirrus. Plus you looking at value in a given price range. Other makers will either be more MTBish, or Comfortish. The Sirrus is a flat barred road bike and the only thing close would be to convert a road bike to flat bars. Man up and buy the bike that you apparently want. You only pay for quality once.. |
+1 on storage solutions. Put the bike inside. Get a cool ceiling mount or something. put it above your bed so you can wake up to it.
As for the initial questions.....Trek 7.2 or the Giant FCR 3 are less and perform similarly. |
