Oh the nostalgia....

Just saw this in a supermarket catalogue:

I really thought this bike was history, but it appears that they have started making them again. Old restored ones cost more than this new one, and have so far been out of (financial) reach for me. But this is actually payable (4500 kr. = about 850 $). If I didn't have my 4 month old son (am in the process of deciding which cargo box bike to buy to "haul" him around town in), I would definitely have bought one of these.

By the way, it is a Baker's Bike (also known as Short John), and it is the original, not a knockoff. Same company that invented and produced the Long John.

There are several other other low-gravity style bikes available from European, US, and Asian manufacturers. They may not be common, but they're out there.

Yep, you just do like this: https://images.google.dk/imgres?imgur...D4uLsAb37fnCBQ

You can also do that with a car seat, there is a rack available that you fasten to the bike and then fasten the car seat to.

We want to be able to carry more than just the baby though, so that's why we are opting for a cargobike.

Sure, but this is the original brand. It was invented in the 1930'es along with the Long John, by this very company. Everything else is just a knockoff....(not to start a discussion or anything).
