Fuji Newest 3.0 conversion..

Hello,

I've got a stock 2009 Fuji Newest 3.0 road bike that I'd like to turn into more of a "path & pavement" bike.

It's got 700x28 road tires on it now, which I'd like to replace with something slightly wider. Maybe 700x32 or 700x35, which it appears to have clearance enough for. Also with a bit of tread too. Something in this vein.

Basically, I want a bike that I can do my normal road rides, but can also handle some light off road stuff as well. If you're in the Denver Metro area, think Waterton Canyon. I'm not looking to do any highly technical single track stuff by any means, just some dirt.

I don't think there are any pitfalls with doing this, but I thought I'd throw it out there and see what the cloud had to say.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Just put on a set of cyclocross tires and you should be good to go...As long as there is enough clearance between the tires/frame/brake calipers. Cyclocross tires are 32's-35/s and have knobby tread. You should be able to get them locally at most bike stores. Search cyclocross on youtube if you want to see what its capable of.
