Another longtail is coming from Worldbike. The same bike they give to people in Africa will be available for purchase in the USA. I didn't find a lot of details on this yet. But it's supposed to be tough and simple bike.

Worldbike.org was founded and it's still headed by Ross Evans, the same person who developed, founded and runs Xtracycle.

If I had the space and the money I'd probably have close to 10 bikes of all kinds including Big Dummy, Yuba, CETMA, a few MTBs, Pugsley, a recumbent, a trike, etc If I think of all the money I spent over the years to pay off my car... ugh...

It seems like having two companies selling competing bikes would be like a bad idea, but it seems like the guy really believes in the African bike thing. Seems like a good company to support.

Looks like Xtracycle no longer sells their own complete bike, 2011 Radish has not been announced, so there is no conflict. Also, this bike appears to be different from the Radish. They sell a Big Dummy now. And I heard rumors that Xtracycle isn't happy with QBP and is trying to break away from them. QBP owns Surly and I was told Xtracycle entered into some contract with QBP or is even owned by them (Unverified rumor! Can someone clear it up?). Anyway, profit was never the driving force behind Xtracycle. And yes, they do believe in the bike for Africa thing, it seems.

Own a few other brands too IIRC. Civia, Surly and Salsa. Then you have Redline, Torker, McNeil cruisers and LaPierre owned by SBS (Seattle Bike Supply)...I won't get into Dorel/Pacific Cycles.
