After a year of fun cycling...

I'm taking my "going green" ideas to the next level.

This is my Trek Navigator comfort bike. I added a folding basket, headlight, tail light, seat pouch, air pump and water bottle. I have a small mom and pop grocery store within 7 miles of my house and the big guys (like Wal Mart) about 10 miles away. I've been riding this bike on 30 mile trips every few weeks so it won't be a problem at all doing short runs for eggs and milk.

I'm actually surprised how nice the bike looks with all this stuff on it and pretty excited to start this new chapter in my bike-life. *** A year and two weeks ago, I was 288 pounds and decided to finally stick with a diet and exercise program. I started with counting calories and walking and then got into biking again. On Jan.1 I started keeping a log of how many miles I've biked, with the goal of 1,000 miles in a year. Today, I hit 990 and (funny enough) I have dropped 90+ pounds and maintained my weight for the last 3 months. Life just couldn't be better!

Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of the weekend!
