Hauling a friend

I have a group of friends coming into town that I'll be doing a brew tour for. One of my friends is deathly afraid of learning how to bike. Does anyone have any ideas about how to bring my friend along with us? Does anyone have a pedicab or other such cycle based transportation that I could borrow that would get my friend from pint A to pint B? Cost is an issue, so we wouldn't be able to hire a pedicab for this. Thanks for your help!

If you haven't already, posting a wanted ad in the bike section of Portland's Craigslist would probably help you out. Otherwise, what about public transportation? Cheap, alcohol friendly...

Thanks Nightdiver. I'll put a craigslist ad up. The bus thing is the last option, but it's so much better to see the city by bike :) Cheers!

... and you are sure "enough" alcohol is not going to solve this problem..?

I would second finding someone who can rent/let you borrow a cargo bike like the Xtracycle or Yuba.

I would start with these guys, they do some rentals and if they do not have what you need may be able to point you in the right direction. http://clevercycles.com/blog/services/rentals/

not sure if this is what your looking for but ive seen 90 year olds pedaling these

alot cheaper than renting

How is that a lot cheaper than renting?

OP, I think Clever has a Bakfiets and maybe a Cetma in their rental fleet. Also, I'm pretty sure Splendid over on Belmont has some Bullitt cargo bikes they rent out.
