so, now that i've convinced my peer group that the world cup is dead dull compared to the tour they all want to know where in calgary they can go to watch said bicycle race in a public-ish setting.

anyone know if there's a bar or whatnot in cowtown that will be showing the tdf?

While I have to respectfully disagree with your first assertion, I am also interested in tdf coverage. I've had pretty good luck just asking them to change the channel at any of the 'sports bars', eg: schanks, flames central, melrose, local 522...

a bunch of us did take over the bp on 17th avenue for last weekend's england game quite successfully. the drawback was that the audio was way too low -- fine for football, but a disaster for the tdf.
